McCormick's Belcamp Solar Installation is expected to generate 2.3 million kWh of electricity per year and offset about 75% of the distribution center's annual electricity consumption. The solar system will avoid 1,600 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions relative to electricity from nonrenewable sources. The solar system is also expected to save $3 million in electricity cost over a 20 year period.
